About Agnippe prunifoliella (Chambers, 1873)
Agnippe prunifoliella is a species of moth belonging to the family Gelechiidae. This moth is found in North America, and has been officially recorded in the following locations: Alabama, Alberta, Arizona, Arkansas, British Columbia, California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Quebec, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia. Its forewings are dark greyish brown, with white colouring along the posterior margin. The boundary between these two colour regions is scalloped: the white section extends two or three tooth-like projections into the darker brown area. One of these projections, located just before the cilia, sits opposite a white streak on the costa. The dorsal cilia are dusky silvery, and are dusted with dark brown. The hindwings are pale yellowish fuscous. The larvae of Agnippe prunifoliella feed on Prunus americana.
