Aglyptodactylus madagascariensis, commonly known as the Madagascar jumping frog, is a species of frog in the family Mantellidae. This species is endemic to Madagascar, and has a wide distribution across the eastern portion of the island. Aglyptodactylus madagascariensis is considered a species complex made up of multiple separate species that occupy different elevational ranges and different regions of eastern Madagascar. The species is common, and forms large groups during its mating season, when it engages in explosive breeding. It inhabits the leaf litter of tropical forests, and can also survive in disturbed habitats and plantations.
