The yellow-winged blackbird, scientifically named Agelasticus thilius, is a species of bird that belongs to the Icteridae family. This species occurs naturally in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay. Its natural habitats are marshes and pastureland. Adult males have entirely black plumage, aside from bright yellow epaulets and matching yellow feather tracts on the underside of their wings. Adult females have brown, streaky plumage. Immature males share the brown streaky plumage of adult females, but also have the same yellow wing patches found on fully mature males.
