About Agathia laetata (Fabricius, 1794)
Agathia laetata (Fabricius, 1794) has a wingspan of approximately 38 millimeters. This species can be distinguished from other members of the genus Agathia by specific wing characteristics: the inner edge of the outer rufous area is evenly curved on the forewing and dentate on the hindwings. The green patch located below the apex of each wing is oval in shape. Green spots towards the inner margin of the hindwings are rarely developed, while the ocellus is more developed. Larvae of this species are green, and have dorsal prominences on the first and eleventh somites. Pupae are yellowish green on the upper side and green on the lower side, with black speckling across the abdominal somites. The larvae feed on plant species from the genera Ichnocarpus, Nerium, and Marsdenia. Eggs are shining light green, oval, and have a flat-topped or concave shape.
