About Agalinis fasciculata (Elliott) Raf.

Agalinis fasciculata (Elliott) Raf. has stiff, slender stems that grow between 30 and 90 cm (12 and 35 in) tall. Its leaves are oppositely arranged and linear, with lengths from 5 to 15 mm (0.20 to 0.59 in) and a typical width of 1 mm (0.04 in). The leaves are often rough when touched. Its flowers have 5 sepals and 5 petals, and the petals are pink or purple. This species is distributed across the southeastern United States, where its range runs from North Carolina to Florida, extending west to Texas. It can also be found in the northeastern US states of New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, as well as in Cuba and Puerto Rico. Agalinis fasciculata is a habitat generalist, found in a wide range of habitat types including flatwoods, sandhills, coastal scrubs, and pine rocklands. It grows across many different soil types, and can grow in environments with disturbed soil.
