About Aethopyga nipalensis (Hodgson, 1836)

Aethopyga nipalensis, described by Hodgson in 1836, is commonly known as the green-tailed sunbird, or alternatively the Nepal yellow-backed sunbird. It is a bird species that belongs to the Nectariniidae family. This species occurs in Nepal, the northern regions of the Indian subcontinent, and extends eastward into parts of Southeast Asia. Its natural habitats are temperate forests, as well as subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. In southeast Szechwan and Yunnan, it inhabits open mountain woods with moss-covered trees, at elevations ranging from 1825 to 3350 meters.
