This species has been recorded in Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovakia, Sweden, and Ukraine. Its natural habitats include rivers, swamps, lakes, and marshes. Across portions of its range, it faces threats from habitat loss, but overall the species is not considered highly vulnerable.
