Aeonium canariense (L.) Webb & Berthel. is a species of flowering plant belonging to the Crassulaceae family. It grows large leaf rosettes that lie close to the ground, while its spikes of yellow flowers can reach up to 70 cm in height. This species is endemic to the Canary Islands, and it is divided into five subspecies, each native to a different island. The subspecies Aeonium canariense subsp. canariense is native to Tenerife in the Canary Islands. On Tenerife, it grows on dry slopes and cliffs in the northern part of the island, at elevations ranging from sea level up to around 1300 m.
