About Aeolidiella glauca (Alder & Hancock, 1845)
Aeolidiella glauca (Alder & Hancock, 1845) is a species of nudibranch. The body of this nudibranch can reach a maximum length of 45 mm. Its body is orange-brown, with extensive fawn or light brown surface pigment that covers the dorsum, as well as a rim along the edge of the foot. The cerata of this nudibranch are covered in dense flecks of fawn-coloured pigment. The outer halves of the oral tentacles and rhinophores have this same fawn-coloured pigmentation. Two species of ectoparasitic copepods, Doridicola agilis Leydig, 1853 and Splanchnotrophus angulatus Hecht, 1893, use Aeolidiella glauca's body as a host. This species was originally described from a type specimen found at Berry Head, Torbay, England. It has been reported from locations including Norway, Great Britain, Ireland, Denmark, and along the Atlantic coast of France from the north down to Arcachon Bay.
