About Aeolidia loui Kienberger, Carmona, Pola, Padula, Gosliner & Cervera, 2016
Aeolidia loui, a species of nudibranch, can be easily identified by the large number of flattened cerata covering most of its body. The only region without these cerata is a triangular area that extends from the rhinophores to the middle of the dorsum. The cerata range in color from grey to white, and sometimes carry pink, orange, or green hues; this color variation depends on the species of anemone that the nudibranch has been feeding on. In living individuals, the rhinophores have a warty texture. This nudibranch species was first described based on specimens collected from the intertidal region at Duxbury Reef, Marin County, California. It is found along the Pacific Coast of North America, ranging from Cape Arago, Oregon, south to San Diego, California, USA.
