Aenetus ligniveren, commonly known as the common splendid ghost moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Hepialidae. This species occurs in Australia, ranging from southern Queensland to Tasmania. Males have a wingspan of 50 mm, while females reach a 70 mm wingspan. Adult moths emerge in early summer. Recorded host plants for Aenetus ligniveren larvae include species from the genera Acacia, Acmena, Callistemon, Dodonaea, Eucalyptus, Lantana, Leptospermum, Lophostemon, Malus, Melaleuca, Olearia, Pomaderris, Prostanthera and Rubus.
