About Aegista impexa (Pilsbry & Hirase, 1905)
This species has the scientific name Aegista impexa (Pilsbry & Hirase, 1905). The shell of this species reaches a diameter of 26.7 mm (1.05 in) and a height of 10 mm (0.39 in). It has a prominently open umbilicus and a regularly conical shape, appearing low conoid on the upper surface and convex on the underside. The shell is relatively thin, pale, and translucent brown in color. Its sculpture features low oblique wrinkles that follow growth lines, plus tiny, very short cuticular threads that adhere to the shell in some areas. The base of the shell has dense, but not very distinct, spiral striations. Peripheral filaments are sparse and short. The shell has approximately 6½ whorls that widen gradually; earlier whorls are convex, while later whorls are nearly flat. The body whorl is sharply carinated, and its base forms an angular contour around the umbilicus. The aperture is very oblique, with a narrowly expanded outer lip. The basal margin is narrowly reflexed and deeply arcuate, and the columellar margin is dilated. A very thin parietal callus forms the final internal feature of the shell. This species is distributed in Taiwan.
