About Aedes caspius (Pallas, 1771)

Adult Aedes caspius mosquitoes are medium-sized, typically measuring around 5 mm in length. They can be identified by several distinct morphological features. The thorax bears golden scales with narrow white lines running along its center. The abdomen often has a pale central stripe, or may be covered entirely in pale scales. Wings are covered in a mix of dark and light scales, and the front edge (costa) is mostly dark. On the legs, segments 1–4 have pale bands at both ends, which gives the segments a ringed appearance.
