About Adeloneivaia jason Boisduval, 1872

Adeloneivaia jason is a bright orange-yellow moth found in Central and South American rain forests. It can also be observed near the lower cloud lines of volcanoes. Adult individuals of this species live for six to ten days, and do not feed during this stage. The species lays large yellow eggs on Inga leaves, and these eggs hatch six days after being laid. It goes through three instars over the course of roughly six weeks. Adult moths emerge one month after this developmental stage is complete. The documented distribution range of Adeloneivaia jason stretches from Mexico to Colombia and Brazil, with notable observations recorded in Venezuela. Recent crowd-sourced observations have verified this range.
