About Adela singulella Walsingham, 1880
Adela singulella is a species of moth that belongs to Adelidae, the family commonly known as fairy longhorn moths. This species was first described by Walsingham in 1880. It is only found in California, United States. The flight period of adult Adela singulella varies by location within the state. In regions north of San Francisco Bay, the central Sierra Nevada, and the San Gabriel Mountains, adults are on the wing from mid-May to mid-June. In the southern Coast Range and the southern Sierra Nevada, adults have been recorded flying in April. The larvae of this moth feed on the buds of two plant species: Gilia capitata and Gilia achilleifolia.
