About Actinidia callosa Lindl.

Actinidia callosa, common name Himalayan kiwi vine, is a species of flowering plant in the Chinese gooseberry family, Actinidiaceae. It is a deciduous climbing vine that can reach up to 30 m (98 ft) in length. It grows in a wide range of habitats at elevations between 400 and 2,600 m (1,300 to 8,500 ft). It is cultivated for its fruit, but there is considerable uncertainty over whether it qualifies as a valid distinct species, due to inconsistent distribution patterns of its varieties and its variable chromosome numbers. Among Actinidia species, Actinidia callosa has the largest natural distribution worldwide. It can be found in the Himalayas, central and southern China, Taiwan, Myanmar, Vietnam, and parts of Southeast Asia including Peninsular Malaysia and Sumatra.
