About Acropora florida (Dana, 1846)

Acropora florida, first described by Dana in 1846, forms colonies from a sprawling or encrusting base. These colonies grow thick upright branches, and occasionally thick horizontal branches. The colonies also produce side branches and small branchlets that have a knob-like appearance. The corallites of this species are evenly distributed across its structure. The colour of Acropora florida is variable, and may be pinkish-brown or any shade of green.
