About Acronicta lupini Grote, 1873

Acronicta lupini, commonly known as the lupine dagger or little bear, is a moth species that belongs to the family Noctuidae. This species was first formally described by Augustus Radcliffe Grote in 1873. In Canada, it can be found in the regions of Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, British Columbia, Alberta, and Yukon, with its range extending southward into California. This moth occurs in alpine habitats. Its wingspan measures approximately 33 mm. In Canada, adult moths are active and in flight from May through August.
