Acossus populi, commonly known as the aspen carpenterworm, is a moth species belonging to the family Cossidae. In the United States, this species occurs in Nevada, Colorado, California, and the northern Rocky Mountains. In Canada, it can be found in Ontario and British Columbia. The wingspan of adult Acossus populi ranges from 50 to 68 mm. The larvae of this moth feed on species in the genus Populus, with Populus tremuloides being their main host plant.
