Acanthophila alacella is a moth species that belongs to the family Gelechiidae. It has been recorded across most of Europe, as well as the northern Caucasus, Georgia, and Iran. The wingspan of this moth measures approximately 14 millimeters, or 0.55 inches. Adult Acanthophila alacella are active and on wing between the months of July and August. The larvae of this species feed on lichens that grow on the trunks of trees.
