About Acanthodoris atrogriseata O'Donoghue, 1927

Acanthodoris atrogriseata is a species of sea slug. It is a dorid nudibranch, a shell-less marine gastropod mollusc that belongs to the family Acanthodorididae. This species was first described from specimens collected under stones in the intertidal zone at False Narrows, Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, Canada. It has been recorded along the Pacific coast of North America from Kiska Island, Alaska south to Morro Bay, California. Many authors previously classified Acanthodoris atrogriseata as a synonym of Acanthodoris pilosa, but molecular phylogeny studies have confirmed it is a separate, distinct species.
