About Abudefduf declivifrons (Gill, 1862)
Abudefduf declivifrons, commonly called the Mexican nightsergeant, is a damselfish species that belongs to the family Pomacentridae. It is native to the eastern Pacific Ocean, and is only found in Mexico, ranging from the Gulf of California to Acapulco. This species typically inhabits surge-exposed rocky reefs, at depths between 1 meter (3 feet) and 5 meters (16 feet). It is an oviparous species; during the breeding season, individual fish form distinct mating pairs, and males guard and aerate the eggs. The maximum recorded standard length for this species is 18 centimeters (7.1 inches).
