About Abegesta remellalis Druce, 1899

Abegesta remellalis, commonly known as the white-trimmed abegesta or the white-trimmed brown pyralid moth, is a species of moth belonging to the family Crambidae. It was first described by Herbert Druce in 1899. This species is found in Mexico and the southwestern United States; within the US, it has been recorded in Arizona, California, and New Mexico. Its forewings range in color from yellowish orange to brown, and feature white median and subterminal lines. The terminal line of the forewings is gray, marked with black dots. The hindwings are creamy white, shaded pale reddish brown from the apex to the inner angle. Adult Abegesta remellalis are active on the wing from June through September.
